Buying A Bike
The reality of buying a bicycle from a big box store: Bicycles can travel at high speeds and need to withstand demanding conditions. They need to be constructed of high-quality materials, assembled by competent, trained bicycle mechanics, and adjusted to fit you correctly.
You could buy a bike from a big box store, where, right between the wheelbarrows and the lawn mowers, you might find a bike with a great price. However, there is a good chance that the same guy who put the wheelbarrows together also put the bike together. Is it really a great price if it breaks in a short amount of time or your safety is compromised?
Fun! Riding a bike should be fun—at any age, but especially for kids. Many people have missed out on an enjoyable lifetime exercise because the first bike they had did not fit or work properly. They may have assumed all bicycles were the same —not fun.
When a bicycle is properly adjusted, the rider becomes part of a beautiful and intricate system designed to propel him or her through three-dimensional space efficiently with little effort—and maximum fun!
